The Village ROCK Camp has been designed and built by its owner, GIBILISCO UMBERTO, in 1975, the year in which he has gone for a short vacation on the island, and immediately fell in love, and then it is not gone. Originally intended only as camping, Mr. Gibilisco work that starts from the residents of the island, at that time, was considered a madness begins to fill the land acquired from plants and trees, acacias, eucalyptus and pine trees. At that time the island was completely desertified, and the island's economy was just fishing. With tenacity and perseverance, never giving up to weather and land, because of so many failures in the initial planting, Mr. Gibilisco has managed to achieve what we can now define the first and almost the only green oasis of Lampedusa. Over the years, driven by customer demand, he began to realize portakabins and, subsequently, the current type dammuso one or two rooms, natural stone buildings, typical of the island in the early 900's, and that fit well environment, in full respect of nature.
the Village ROCK Camp is situated directly on the sea, on the beach Say It Greca, a small sandy cove, on the border with PARK ISLAND OF RABBITS, and is now immersed in an oasis of acacias, ficus australis, sea pines esvariate flowering plants.
